eagle-flagYesterday I had the honor of being a tiny part of TroopAThon 2009 raising $603,049.14 in 12 hours to send “care packages” of coffee, beef jerky, Jelly Bellies, oreo cookies and other most requested items to troops around the world. I was little more than an apostrophe among the likes of John Voight, Kelsey Grammer and Gary Sinese and recently defrocked Miss California Carrie Prejean. Rush Limbaugh called in his pledge of $100,000. If you’d like to send a “Care Package got to TroopAThon.org.

Yesterday’s event was hosted at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California about halfway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. It is a spectacular place and site with Air Force One perched in a special pavilion, a replica of the Oval Office, impressive galleries and displays, and of course the tomb of President Reagan. If ever you are in Southern California be sure to visit.
